مخالفان دولت می گویند که این رای گیری "ساختگی" است و آنها شرکت در آن برای انتخاب ۲۵۰ صندلی پارلمان سوریه را بایکوت می کنند.

سازمان ملل متحد می گوید که بیش از ۹۰۰۰ نفر در جریان ناآرامی های سوریه که توسط دولت بشار اسد به شدت سرکوب شده است، کشته شده اند.
